Blue Light Special On Blu-ray
The holiday season’s plunge in the price of Blu-ray players seemed to have slowed to a gentle downward meander in the first weeks of the new year – that is, until last week’s dive. As note in our recent press release , the PriceSCAN Blu-ray Player Index fell three percent last week as compared to a 0.7% loss for the prior days of 2010

In a television retail universe characterized by soft demand and softer prices, big screen plasmas seemed almost uniquely immune to sharp discounting; that is, until now. As noted in our press release this week, the PriceSCAN Plasma Television 60 Inch+ Index has now given back all its gains from an 11% price spike back in the first half of August

At Last, A Twelve Megapixel Snapshot Of A Price Cut
While many high-tech goods this year have seen more than precipitous price drops, one stalwart of price stability has been twelve megapixel digital cameras – that is, until now. I noted back in June that prices of these higher resolution digital cameras were showing remarkable strength (see “ State Of The Art Digital Camera Prices Show Staying Power ”). And indeed, that stability persisted: from October 2008 to October 2009 we saw only a 2% decline in our PriceSCAN 12 Megapixel Digital Camera Index .
