Improve The Quality Of Your Photographs With The Right Printer!
Can your printer help improve the quality of your photos? It can if you choose the right printer. Canon’s latest technology AutoFix II allows the printer to automatically correct photos that are sent to the printer. AutoFix II works to correct overexposed photographs by adjusting the color concentration so that all your photos come out perfect. Another great feature added to the latest generation of PIXMA printers is the addition of Easy-Webprint EX software which allows you to cut and paste from webpages and create documents with the information that you need. This another great way to save paper and ink With the newer models the printer speeds have been increased even beyond the last year’s head of the class printing speeds. Since the PIXMA line is made up of inkjet printers they can take advantage of Canon’s FINE (Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology. This technology combined with ChromaLife allows you to print out photos that can last hundreds of years if they are stored properly. Another nice feature of mid-level PIXMA printers is the single ink tank which means that your printer has four colored ink tanks and one black tank, so you only need to replace each ink cartridge as it runs out which can save you a lot of money on ink. The second generation of PIXMA features an Auto Scan mode allowing the printer to recognize the kind of document that is being scanned and handle it accordingly. If you are a photo enthusiast on a budget the Canon PIXMA line offers excellent printers to take care of your needs.

Personal Democracy Forum: Seeking the Youth Vote
The historic election of President Barack Obama marked a high point for youth involvement in elections. Now, activists are trying to figure out how to bottle youthful Obamania and transport it to other elections. At a panel discussion of the Personal Democracy Forum, author and youth vote activist Mike Conner said that young voter turnout (18-29 year olds) has increased the last three election cycles – marking the first rise in youth voter turnout since the Reagan era.

Twitter for journalists and newsrooms: sourcing, publicising, connecting
Twitter asks its users one question: “What are you doing right now?” It is a simple enough concept; ‘tweeters’ answer this question and their response enters the real time feeds of those who follow them, but it is becoming increasingly useful for reporters and papers as the social network attracts more and more users. Essentially, journalists can use Twitter in three ways: to find stories and other information and to track events, to publicise their work, and to connect with readers. A real time feed of breaking news and thought Twitter is an extremely useful journalistic resource: reporters can use it to watch for breaking news, follow sources and search for information

The death of Michael Jackson, as covered by the press
The media coverage of the shock death of Michael Jackson has served to highlight press dynamics, raising interesting questions concerning the nature of breaking news reporting, the cult of the celebrity and the relationship between newspapers and their online news rivals. Has the fact that most newspapers were delayed in the initial reporting of the death emphasised the widening gulf between print and digital channels of breaking news?

Live-Tweeting the Personal Democracy Forum
The Personal Democracy Forum, an annual conference about the intersection of politics and technology, has attracted an all-star lineup this year. The conference opened with a Skype presentation by Michael Bloomberg and a discussion on whether Obama “revolutionized campaigning” with new media and tech innovations during the presidential race. But moderator Andrew Rasiej drew the strongest audience reaction when he suggested that the term “public” be redefined as readable and searchable online.

Microsoft CEO: traditional media will never completely recover
The advertising slump for traditional media is here to stay, according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer . Speaking at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, where he was named “media person of the year,” Ballmer described the current economic situation for media as a “reset” not a “recession.” That means media companies must completely rethink their business models to keep up with the changing landscape of publishing. Ballmer also faulted newspaper publishers for not doing enough to make money out of their online ventures, adding that Google is the only digital company with a track record for earning significant revenue.
