That's the philosophy behind Canon's new PIXMA MP490 Photo All-in-One inkjet printer. The PIXMA MP490 cranks out lab-quality 4×6 inch photos in about 43 seconds using four inks (it can print photos as large as 8×10 inches).

Thought the technology has advanced and so do the zeal for it, but still in this race there is a community who tries to get along with their work with the resources they have from their back days. While Hewlett-Packard’s financial report in the third quarter of its fiscal year was promising they did experience a slight decrease in their net revenue of two percent. For the year their revenue was down 19 percent. In light of this slight loss Hewlett-Packard is very optimistic about its future, and has released several new printer models onto the market just in time for the back-to-school rush.

Can your printer help improve the quality of your photos?  It can if you choose the right printer.  Canon’s latest technology AutoFix II allows the printer to automatically correct photos that are sent to the printer.  AutoFix II works to correct overexposed photographs by adjusting the color concentration so that all your photos come out perfect.  Another great feature added to the latest generation of PIXMA printers is the addition of Easy-Webprint EX software which allows you to cut and paste from webpages and create documents with the information that you need.  This another great way to save paper and ink   With the newer models the printer speeds have been increased even beyond the last year’s head of the class printing speeds.  Since the PIXMA line is made up of inkjet printers they can take advantage of Canon’s FINE (Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology.  This technology combined with ChromaLife allows you to print out photos that can last hundreds of years if they are stored properly. Another nice feature of mid-level PIXMA printers is the single ink tank which means that your printer has four colored ink tanks and one black tank, so you only need to replace each ink cartridge as it runs out which can save you a lot of money on ink.  The second generation of PIXMA features an Auto Scan mode allowing the printer to recognize the kind of document that is being scanned and handle it accordingly.  If you are a photo enthusiast on a budget the Canon PIXMA line offers excellent printers to take care of your needs.

When you are planning to buy a printer you really have two major choices: laser or inkjet.  Knowing the major differences between the two can help you to determine which type of printer is best for you. The basis of how laser printers work is actually static electricity.  Toner powder sticks to the electrical pattern drawn on by the laser and is heated by a fuser so it sticks to the paper.  Laser printers have a lot more parts to replace than an inkjet printer , but if speed and precision are priorities for you then a laser printer may be the way to go.  Lasers allow laser jet printers to print much faster than inkjet printers and the precision comes from the fact that the laser beam never changes in size.  Though laser printers are often more expensive than inkjet printers, that cost difference is often made up in the cost savings that laser printers provide.  Toner cartridges lasts a long time and are relatively inexpensive for the amount of copies they make while inkjet cartridges may need to be replaced more frequently and are comparatively more expensive

HP is known for making affordable printers that handle the needs of your average home user.  The HP Deskjet D2660 is no exception.  Of course you have to recognize that for the price tag, a mere $50, you will not have all the features of a more expensive printer and the photo quality is not quite what you get from the pricier models.  As a printer for a spare computer, one of the kid’s computers, or a printer to attach to the laptop when you are using it around the house the D2660 is an excellent choice.  It is an inkjet printer so replacing or refilling the printer cartridges is a cinch.

Times are hard and these days it always seems that people are looking to save a few bucks where they can; and your home and office printer may be an excellent place to start.  Let’s face it if you print a lot of items then the money you spend on printer cartridges can add up very quickly.  There are some nice products that you can take advantage of in order to reduce those costs.  One product t most people are familiar with are printer cartridge refill kits.  You may wonder though what kind of printer cartridges can I refill, or even better what kind of printer cartridge should I refill? An inkjet cartridge is the most obvious kind of printer cartridge that you can refill.  Refill kits can cost half as much as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cartridge making them an ideal option when it is time to replace your inkjet printer cartridge.  On the other hand, laser printers use a very different mechanism for printing which rules out refill kits as an option.  This does not mean that you can’t save money if you have a laser printer though.  Remanufactured toner cartridges can be purchased for much less than OEM toner cartridges
