Fast and Cheap All-in-One Color Inkjet Printers Under $200
Epson Speeds Ahead of All-in-One Color Inkjet Printers Under $200 When the Epson WorkForce 610 (shown above) claimed the crown for the fastest all-in-one color inkjet printer under $200, we had to compare it to other printers in its class. At this moment, the 610′s reported 38 pages per minute, 15 pages per minute using the International Standards Organization (ISO) method for measuring digital printer productivity, brings it across the finish line well ahead of the photo finish for second place of other all-in-ones from Dell, Kodak, Lexmark and HP. Arguably, the Canon PIXMA MX870 is among the photo finishers with a speed rating of 9.4 images per minute using the ISO measurement

Skinput Makes the Human Body an Interface
What if you could turn your skin into a touch-interface? That’s the idea driving Skinput, a system that takes advantage of the vibrations generated when we tap our body. The prototype is accurate enough that different parts of the body can be turned into switches that control a variety of functions, as the video below demonstrates: Using a tiny projector embedded in the armband that captures taps on the human arm, Skinput can even display a dynamic graphical interface to present information and options to users

10 Minutes With the HTC HD2: It’s Big!
But not big enough that you’ll have a hard time carrying it around. The HTC HD2 is easily the best example of the slate smartphone form factor, which is all screen and pretty much nothing else. It’s also the smartphone with the biggest display I’ve ever seen

Teen Accused of Spreading Child Porn
Remember when my maturing self ranted about sexting ? Well, a 14-year-old was recently arrested for allegedly spreading a nude picture of his ex (of the same age) to other students in his school. According to police, the picture has now spread among “dozens of students in at least three different schools.” Again, when did young people start thinking that sending naked photos of yourself to someone else was cool

How to Unlock the HTC HD2’s hidden RAM
Lots of phones nowadays come out of the box with some features disabled, and it’s a simple matter of a little tweaking to activate them. Still, why would anyone intentionally limit the amount of RAM—that piece of hardware that makes high-end phones faster and thus easier to use—available to its users? Case in point: the HTC HD2 , which has 576 MB of RAM built-in, but only 448 MB of that available by default

Lack of Demand Killed the Radio Star
A complaint I’ve seen about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 and the Google Nexus One is that neither phone comes with a radio. The problem is that no one really cares. Manufacturers still cram as many features into their gadgets as possible, especially if it helps makes the premium price of high-end devices more palatable.

EFO Debuts Bluetooth Handheld Keyboard
This seems perfect for presenters who want full control over their Powerpoint presentation, even as the computer lies across the board room. The EFO Bluetooth handheld keyboard features a QWERTY thumb board and a small touch screen; what you type comes out on a connected computer, and you can slide your finger on the display to aim the mouse pointer and click on stuff. Even better, EFO’s gadget comes with a free Bluetooth Dongle, so those with computers that need to play catch up don’t need to spend extra.

Why You Need to Rename Your Home WiFi
Who would’ve thought renaming your WiFi network could be so useful? Leave it to PassiveAggressiveNotes.com to state truth: “folks with wireless networks still named “linksys” or “trendnet” are clearly missing out on a priceless opportunity to piss off your neighbors.” That’s because, instead of leaving a potentially offensive note on your neighbors doorstep, wasting your to tell them off, you can do so through the magic of WiFi, without getting up from your computer.
