September launch for Project Canvas
By the end of this month, the BBC Trust will have made its decision on the future of the online TV service known as Project Canvas. If this is favourable, and there is no reason to assume that it will not be, then there will be a three month timeline leading to an initial launch during September. According to the controller of strategy at ITV, Simon Pitts, following the BBC Trust’s approval, partners will be found in July and then the technical specs can be defined and shared in August

Okay, so we are one of those people who will not be caught with a knock-off – mainly because we would rather steer clear of whatever legal implications owning such an article may bring. We have to admit, though, that when one travels to places where one sees them crawling all over the place with rock-bottom prices (and that includes Canal Street with the Pradas and the Burberrys), well, the temptation to succumb is there.

US Commission searches for solutions to the woes of journalism
The United States Federal Trade Commission has set out to identify, and prescribe a cure for, the problems of the journalistic industry, reports the New York Times . The Commission will host a series of public forums to discuss ways to make the industry profitable again. Thus far, several diverse ideas have been suggested, including loosening antitrust laws, imposing a tax on iPads and other electronic devices, and creating a public fund to pay young journalists.
